Life is complicated, therapy shouldn’t be…
You feel pulled in a million directions and it’s exhausting to keep up the façade for so long. If feeling better was easy you’d have done that a long time ago. But it’s not, relief is complicated because well, life is complicated. You weren’t meant to do this alone and you don’t have to. Lets make you a priority by meeting you where you are, without pressure, expectations or judgement. I want to help you find your voice, the ability to say no, increase your confidence, and create a more meaningful and fulfilling life you deserve.
Since I can remember people have shared their deepest, most intimate problems with me. I am genuinely interested in other’s stories and always want to provide a non-judgmental and accepting space for that. Being at ease and feeling safe is so crucial for us to be able to look inward and ultimately make the change we desperately want. Doing my own work has reinforced the importance of being vulnerable but also not being critical of anyone in the sacred space called therapy. You deserve to be heard, understood, and encouraged during your journey, I would love the opportunity to do this with you.
If we work together, our time would be spent on making a plan that is tailored to your unique needs. If coping skills and stress management techniques are what you need then we establish those. If doing more deep work, like addressing unhelpful and intrusive thoughts then that is what we do. Therapy doesn’t look the same for everyone, nor should it. Our experiences, needs, and goals are vast. Lastly, along the way I will encourage you, challenge you, and provide feedback to help get you to where you want to be. My style is intentional and purposeful to help you get back to who you really are and who you were created to be.
I am a Tennessee transplant by way of the U.S. Army and my husband recently retired, so we now call Clarksville home. I have been married for 15 years and have three crazy toddlers who are 4, 6, and 8 years old who definitely keep me on my toes along with permeant custody of my teenage cousins.
I am a licensed clinical counselor who pulls from all kinds of techniques such as Solution-Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help tailor a unique therapeutic experience that will work for you. I specialize in working with women, whether a stay at home mom or the modern working woman or military spouses. I help women: cope with the stress of being a mom, balance work and home life, and adjust to the unpredictability of being a military spouse. I also enjoy working with couples who want to establish a healthy foundation, develop skills to communicate effectively, and build emotional and physical intimacy into their relationship.
When I am not in session you can find me working out at the gym, cooking or baking, hanging out with my husband and wild kiddos or involved in some kind of ministry.
